Say goodbye to dry!

By Stacey Brooks for North Valley Magazine

Summertime in Arizona is always rough on my skin. Literally! It seems like no matter how much sunscreen or moisturizer I apply my skin continues to peel and flake. Let’s be honest, dry skin is NOT attractive! So, I’ve been on a mission to get my skin back in tip top shape.

Here’s a quick and easy exfoliating body scrub I’ve been using at home. Of course if you’d rather be pampered, I’ve included three unique spa experiences that are offered at some of the Valley’s finest resorts. Whether you do a treatment yourself or go to a spa, I think you’ll agree there’s nothing better than having soft supple skin.

DIY – COFFEE SUGAR BODY SCRUB

If the smell of freshly brewed coffee perks you up in the morning, imagine inhaling an entire shower full of Joe!  The coarsely ground coffee and raw sugar in this treatment rids your body of dead, flaky skin cells, while the massage oil moisturizes.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 2 cups coarsely ground coffee
  • 1/2 cup raw sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons massage oil

Mix ingredients together. Take a hot shower and rub the scrub onto your skin. Rinse, pat dry, and then apply your favorite body lotion.
